Unicare Pharmacy — Meireles & Harras Ltd

Terms and Conditions

Using our website, our NHS services, and the private services you pay for

Version 1.0 — effective 14 October 2026. These terms replace the terms previously published on this page. Part C applies to private services.

Part A — Using this website

A1. This website is operated by Meireles & Harras Ltd, trading as Unicare Pharmacy (company number SC757945), 121-123 Rowlands Road, Worthing BN11 3LA. By using the site you agree to these terms.

A2. Information on this site is general health information. It is not a substitute for advice from a pharmacist, GP or other healthcare professional about your own circumstances, and it is not an emergency service — if you need urgent help contact NHS 111 or, in an emergency, 999.

A3. The content, logo and design of this site belong to Meireles & Harras Ltd or our licensors. You may view and print pages for personal use; you may not copy or reuse them commercially without our written permission. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

A4. We aim to keep the site available and accurate but do not guarantee that it will be free of errors or interruptions. We may change or remove content at any time.

A5. Information you enter into the site — including the prescription registration form and the appointment booking system — is handled as described in our Privacy Notice.

Part B — NHS services

B1. NHS services we provide — including NHS prescriptions, Pharmacy First, the NHS contraception and blood pressure services, the New Medicine Service and NHS flu and COVID-19 vaccinations — are provided under our NHS contract and are free at the point of use to eligible patients. NHS prescription charges, where they apply, are set by the NHS and are not a charge made by us.

B2. Registering with us for NHS prescriptions through this website nominates Unicare Pharmacy to receive your electronic prescriptions. You can change or cancel your nomination at any time by telling us or your GP practice.

B3. Part C below does not apply to NHS services. Your rights in relation to NHS services, and how to complain about them, are set out in the NHS Constitution and our NHS complaints procedure, which is available in the pharmacy.

Part C — Private services

The short version. You pay for a professional consultation, not for a particular medicine or result. If a pharmacist assesses you and decides a treatment isn’t right for you, the consultation has still been provided. You can change your mind about any treatment at any time. Cancel at least 24 hours before an appointment and you owe nothing. If you book online you also have a 14-day cooling-off right. Nothing here takes away your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or your right to safe care.

1. Who we are

1.1 Unicare Pharmacy is owned and operated by Meireles & Harras Ltd (company number SC757945), 121-123 Rowlands Road, Worthing BN11 3LA. Telephone 01903 898509. Email info@unicarepharmacy.co.uk. Our pharmacy premises is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) under number 1037422. Our Superintendent Pharmacist is Reda Harras (GPhC 2091748).

1.2 These terms apply to the private services we provide: travel health and travel vaccinations; private flu, COVID-19 and other vaccinations; vitamin B12 injections; weight management; ear wax removal; and, where offered, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and non-surgical aesthetic treatments. They do not apply to NHS services, which are free at the point of use under our NHS contract.

1.3 Your contract with us is made up of these terms, your booking confirmation (if you booked in advance), the price and scope of service agreed before you pay, and any written information we give you about the specific service. A consent form records your clinical decisions; it does not change these terms or your legal rights.

2. Booking

2.1 You can book online through our website, by telephone or in the pharmacy. A booking is confirmed when we confirm the appointment, the service and the price. Booking an appointment gives you an assessment; it does not guarantee that a treatment or medicine will be suitable for you.

2.2 We do not currently take payment at the time of booking. If a booking payment or advance payment is introduced for a service, we will tell you the amount and what it covers before you book, and the rules in sections 4 and 5 will apply to it.

2.3 Please tell us before booking about anything that may affect eligibility — for example your age, pregnancy, allergies, current medicines or recent treatment elsewhere. We may need to see identification, check your medical history or contact your GP with your agreement.

2.4 Appointment reminders are a courtesy. You remain responsible for attending the confirmed appointment.

3. Fees and what you are paying for

3.1 Prices are displayed in the pharmacy and on our website and include VAT where it applies. We tell you the price before you commit to pay.

3.2 A consultation fee pays for the pharmacist’s professional assessment, advice and clinical record. It is payable whether or not a treatment or medicine is recommended at the end of it. Paying for a consultation does not buy a prescription, a specific medicine, an injection or a particular result; the pharmacist’s decision is based on your assessment and your best interests.

3.3 Treatment, vaccine and medicine charges are separate from the consultation fee and are told to you before the treatment is given or the medicine supplied. For the weight management service, the charge is per supply of medicine; each supply depends on a review by the pharmacist. Where a price cannot be fixed until after assessment, we explain how it will be calculated and agree it with you before proceeding.

3.4 Unless your booking confirmation says otherwise, payment is taken in the pharmacy on the day, by card or cash, before the treatment is given or the medicine supplied. We give you a receipt showing what you have paid for.

4. Cancelling or changing an appointment

4.1 To cancel or rearrange, telephone 01903 898509, email info@unicarepharmacy.co.uk, or use the link in your booking confirmation. A cancellation takes effect when your message reaches us.

4.2 If you cancel at least 24 hours before the appointment, you owe nothing, and any advance payment you have made for a service not yet provided is refunded in full.

4.3 If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or do not attend, we may keep a booking payment where one was disclosed to you before booking, but only to the extent of the actual loss the missed appointment caused us (reserved professional time less any costs saved or income from refilling the slot). We never charge a consultation fee for a consultation that did not take place, and we explain the basis of any amount kept if you ask. We take illness, emergencies and other exceptional circumstances into account.

4.4 If you arrive late we will assess whether there is still time to provide safe care; if not, we will offer another appointment.

4.5 If we have to cancel, we offer you another appointment or a full refund of anything you have paid in advance. The choice is yours.

5. Your 14-day cooling-off right for online and telephone bookings

5.1 If you book a paid service online or by telephone, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the day the booking is confirmed to cancel without giving a reason. You can tell us by telephone or email, or use the cancellation form at the end of these terms. If you cancel within this period before the service is provided, we refund any payment you have made within 14 days.

5.2 If your appointment falls within the 14 days, by attending and agreeing to go ahead you ask us to provide the service during the cooling-off period. Once the consultation has been fully provided, the cooling-off right for that consultation ends. If you cancel part-way through, you pay only for the part of the service provided up to that point.

5.3 The cooling-off right does not apply to a medicine that has been supplied to you under a prescription or administered to you, and it does not apply to bookings made in person at the pharmacy. Our ordinary cancellation rules in section 4 and your other legal rights still apply.

6. Consultations, consent and changing your mind

6.1 Our pharmacists work within their competence and within the law, including the Human Medicines Regulations 2012. Medicines are supplied under a Patient Group Direction or a prescription written by an independent prescriber. The pharmacist may ask for more information, examine you, arrange a test, refer you to your GP or another service, or decline treatment where that is the right clinical decision. Fees never influence clinical decisions.

6.2 Before any treatment we explain what it involves, the benefits, the material risks, the alternatives and the cost, and we ask for your consent. Paying a fee or accepting these terms is not consent to treatment. You may refuse or withdraw consent at any time, including during the appointment; we will stop as soon as it is safe to do so.

6.3 Once a consultation has been completed with reasonable care and skill, the consultation fee is not refundable because you change your mind, decline the treatment offered, or decide to go elsewhere.

6.4 Vaccines and injectable medicines are prepared only once you have consented and immediately before they are given. If you withdraw consent after a single-use dose has been opened or drawn up for you and it cannot lawfully be used for anyone else, we may charge the cost of that wasted dose, up to the product price we told you before preparation, and no more. We never charge for a dose that is still sealed and usable, and we never charge for wastage caused by our own error.

6.5 You must give us accurate and complete information about your health, medicines, allergies and any pregnancy or breastfeeding, and tell us if anything changes. You must not obtain treatment for someone else through a consultation in your name, or use more than one provider to get around safety checks.

6.6 With your agreement we may share a summary of your treatment with your GP. For some services, such as weight management, TRT and HRT, we may need information from your GP or a blood test before we can treat you safely; if that information is not available we may postpone or decline treatment and explain the alternatives.

6.7 Repeat supplies — including each supply of weight management medicine — depend on a review by the pharmacist and on any monitoring the service requires. A previous supply does not guarantee another.

6.8 We may end an appointment if safety, safeguarding, capacity, intoxication or threatening behaviour prevents safe care. We will still give you any immediate safety advice you need.

7. Medicines supplied to you

7.1 Medicines that have been supplied to you and have left the pharmacy cannot be returned for a refund, because we cannot verify how they have been stored and the law does not allow us to re-supply them. This does not affect your right to a remedy if a medicine is faulty, incorrect or not as described — tell us straight away and we will put it right.

7.2 We will tell you promptly if a medicine we have supplied is recalled. Unwanted medicines can be returned to us for safe disposal free of charge.

8. Service-specific terms

8.1 Travel health. The assessment considers your destination, itinerary, timing and medical history. Each vaccine dose is priced separately. We cannot guarantee protection from disease or that a vaccination certificate will be accepted at a border; check current entry requirements before you travel.

8.2 Ear wax removal. The appointment includes an examination of the ear. Removal may be unnecessary, unsafe or only partly successful on the day; we explain what we find and your options. You pay only for what was agreed and provided.

8.3 Weight management, TRT and HRT. Treatment depends on clinical eligibility, baseline checks and ongoing monitoring. Charges for consultation, blood tests, medicine and reviews are identified separately. No advertisement or booking guarantees a particular medicine or outcome.

8.4 Aesthetic treatments (where offered) are for adults aged 18 and over only; we verify age before treatment. Prescribing and treatment require a face-to-face assessment. Outcomes, duration and the need for further sessions vary and are not guaranteed. Clinical photographs are taken only for your record with your agreement, and are never used for marketing without your separate written permission. Written aftercare and a contact route for concerns are provided.

9. Aftercare and emergencies

9.1 Please follow the aftercare advice we give you and tell us promptly about side effects or any change in your health. Our private services are not an emergency service: if you need urgent help, contact NHS 111 or, in an emergency, 999.

10. Your information

10.1 We keep a clinical record of every private service and protect it as confidential health information. How we use your information is explained in our Privacy Notice. Accepting these terms is not consent to marketing; that is always asked for separately.

11. Your legal rights and our responsibility

11.1 We provide our services with reasonable care and skill, and medicines and products we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a service does not meet that standard you may be entitled to have it repeated, a price reduction or a refund.

11.2 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. We do not cap our liability at the fee you paid, and signing a consent form does not excuse negligent care.

11.3 Refunds you are entitled to are paid to the original payment method within 14 days.

12. Complaints

12.1 If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please tell us: ask for the Superintendent Pharmacist in the pharmacy, telephone 01903 898509 or email info@unicarepharmacy.co.uk. We acknowledge complaints promptly, investigate them and tell you the outcome in writing. If you remain dissatisfied you may contact the General Pharmaceutical Council (pharmacyregulation.org) about professional standards, and you may use the courts. Making a complaint will never affect the care you receive from us.

13. General

13.1 All parts of these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and any dispute may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published at unicarepharmacy.co.uk/terms-and-conditions on the date of your booking, and we will tell you about any change that affects a booking you have already made.

Cancellation form

You can use this form to cancel a booking made online or by telephone within the 14-day cooling-off period, but you do not have to — a telephone call or email is enough.
